Current Trends in Serving Persons with Disabilities

Description of the meeting:
Join us for a dynamic presentation by Disability Rights Advocate and Attorney, Stephen Dale. The latest issues concerning conservatorship and alternatives for persons with disabilities will be presented, including a review of pending litigation concerning representation of conservatees in California. Steve will discuss the development of the Supported Decision. Making movement across the nation and in California, regarding implementation. He will provide an update on the ABLE Act, and CalABLE, along with a review of policy from CMS, SSA and HUD, and changes to the qualification criteria and how this account coincides with SNTs. Steven will report on the ongoing funding crisis for ALTA, and will give us an update on his development of the Life Passage Planning Project.

Stephen is the principal attorney at The Dale Law Firm, and operates the Golden State Pooled Trust. He is very entrenched in the disability advocacy world, attending and presenting at multiple conferences throughout the country each year.
