MediCal Eligibility and State Recovery

Meeting Description:
This presentation will emphasize MediCal eligibility and recover for long-term care (nursing home) services under current law and regulations and will discuss basic changes to come under the Deficit Reduction Act. We will touch briefly on waiver programs to provide long-term care equivalent services for persons at home. We will look briefly at some transfer techniques to treat windfalls and unexpected receipts of gifts by long-term care recipients. We will not discuss MediCal availability through the Affordable Care Act (expanded MediCal or "MAGI MediCal") and we will not cover how to apply for MediCal.
